WORDZ MATTER

This piece was born from a conversation we had with one of our fans who wanted to see a take on Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin was not known as a man of many words, due mostly in part to his rise to fame in the era of silent movies. For this reason, I wanted to highlight how powerful and impactful his words, when he chose to use them, really were!

The different sentences spilling out of his head are actually all parts of his famous speech from his first Sound Film, a satirical comedy, “The Great Dictator”. In it, he spoke as and portrayed Adolf Hitler. His message, however, was quite different than the one of the real Hitler employed. The gun and the words represent the following: Out of such violence comes something that is more infinitely more powerful and uplifting than any weaponry can ever be; Love and unity as a people! Never has it been more true, “Wordz Matter!”
